Human Flourishing

To flourish is not to be endlessly happy, but to be fully alive — meeting both adversity and adventure with health, wisdom, character and grace.

The Whole of a Life

Flourishing is an old idea wearing new clothes. The Greeks called it eudaimonia — not pleasure, but the sense that a life is going well as a whole: that one is growing, contributing, and becoming more fully oneself. It is less a destination than a direction.

We treat it as a practice rather than a possession. It is built in ordinary hours — in how we rest, how we pay attention, how we treat the people in front of us — and it compounds quietly, like interest, across a lifetime.

A Question to Sit With

Where in your life do you feel most fully yourself — and how might you make a little more room for it?
